The circular tower foundation from the 12th century measuring 19 meters in diameter is the oldest preserved stone building of Hamburg’s historic city center.

    The old Harburg

    The old Harburg is rediscovered on this walk. In addition to Harburg Castle, Harburg's oldest surviving mundane building, Harburg's history is explained at other selected points. These include town houses from the 17th and 18th centuries, the harbor and the old Harburg church. The two-hour walk begins at the Harburg Castle in the harbour area and follows the Harburger Schloßstraße into modern Harburg.
