In the beginning there was fire. Significant inventions were made possible with the mastery of fire: burning of pottery, processing of ores into metals, the steam engine. These innovations were the starting point for industrialization without which today’s world would be inconceivable. The tour of the archaeological exhibition leads from the beginnings in the Stone Age to the present and highlights the importance of inventions for the history of mankind. The focus lies on the hand axe and spearhead, bow and arrow, wheel and wagon, as well as cooking pots, bronze jewellery and iron swords.
