The Archaeological Museum Hamburg at the trade fair “Mineralien Hamburg 2019” from 6th to 8th of December 2019.
Archaeology in the sandbox
An excavation to join in at the museum stand provides an exciting insight into the work of archaeologists. In the archaeology sandbox children can search for the secrets of the past with a shovel, trowel and sieve. Hidden bones and broken pottery pieces are waiting to be discovered and uncovered. In the “lost property office”, the little researchers can then process and analyse the discovered finds. Educators of the museum supervise the action and support the children with words and deeds. And while the little ones are tracing the early history of mankind, their parents can look around undisturbed on the largest mineral show in northern Europe.
The museum offers archaeological literature and replicas at its stand.
By the way, scientists of the museum are also available during the “Mineralien Hamburg 2019” at the exhibition grounds to advise visitors who would like to have their own archaeological finds examined.
